Marilyn J. Adams, 71, longtime Coleraine resident, died Friday, February 27, 2026, peacefully in her home.
Born August 25, 1954, in Grand Rapids, she was the daughter of Robert and Sylvia (Kallio) Murphy. Marilyn grew up in Bovey, was a 1972 graduate of Greenway High School, and a graduate of Bemidji State University with a bachelor’s degree in special education. Marilyn married Patrick “Pudder” Adams on August 12, 1978, in Grand Rapids. Marilyn had been a long-time Special Education teacher at Connor-Jasper Middle School.
Marilyn’s greatest joy was her grandchildren, Quinn and Cameron. They were the light of her life, and she never missed a chance to cheer them on or share in their adventures. She found joy and peace in the outdoors — fishing the waters of Lake of the Woods, gathering at the family cabin on Winnie, and sharing time at Horns and Feathers Camp.
Her parents, Robert and Sylvia Murphy and two brothers; John and Conrad Murphy preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, Patrick “Pudder” Adams; a daughter, Leah (Tanner) Hanson; grandchildren, Quinn and Cameron; and a brother, Gary (Becky) Murphy.
Services for Marilyn will be held at a later date.
